ORIENTAL-RUG CLEANING

  Oriental and Area Rug Cleaning

Why you should have your rug cleaned in-plant.

  • The Eureka Company recently did a study and found that a 9x12 wool rug can hide 87 pounds of dry soil!  WOW!  Vacuuming your rug will remove a lot of the dry soil however we use special techniques that remove much more dry soil through various dusting procedures.  Removing dry abrasive soil is critical to maintaining your investment.
  • When we clean your rug in-plant we are able to use special tools that we cannot use when we do an on location cleaning.
  • We are better able to remove difficult soiling such as pet urine and the odors associated with it.  We completely submerge the rug in clean water and bathe it in cool water and special cleaning agents to completely flush out urine and other contaminants.
  • We are able to soak your rug in a disinfecting bath to eliminate germs and bacteria and return your rug in the cleanest and healthiest state.
  • Rugs that have the potential for color mitigation or colors that may bleed together can be treated and cleaned using special procedures.
How we clean your rugs in-plant:

  • The first step is to thoroughly inspect the rug and test to make sure all of the dyes are stable.  Urine in a rug can actually cause the colors in some rugs to bleed and run.  We also inspect the backing and check for any stains that may be permanent or require special spotting procedures.
  • The next step is to thoroughly dust the rug to remove dry abrasive soil out of the rug.  This is the most important step.
  • The rug is then treated with a neutral cleaning agent and lightly agitated.
  • We then place the rug in a special wash pit and shampoo the front and back of the rug.
  • The rug is then thoroughly rinsed and flushed.  This step completely removes pet urine out of the rug.  Rugs that do have pet urine may be soaked in a deodorizing bath for several hours.
  • After the rug has been thoroughly rinsed, we extract the rug with special tools to remove the maximum amount of water from the rug.
  • The fringe is then cleaned and detailed.
  • We can now apply a protector to the rug to protect your investment from stains and spills.
  • The rug is finally dried with special fans

How much does in-plant cleaning cost?

Several things affect the pricing.  These include the condition of the rug, the risk or difficultly in cleaning the rug, whether there is any pet urine odor, and the type of backing material.

Our price averages from 2 – 3 dollars per square foot.  We offer free pick-up and delivery on any order 125 and up.

  On-Location Cleaning of Area Rugs:

Your area rugs can safely be cleaned on-location much like we clean your wall to wall carpet.  We will thoroughly vacuum your rug, pre-treat it with a special cleaning agent, agitate it, and steam rinse it with our truck-mounted cleaning system.  The price is lower than an in-plant cleaning.  Area rugs that have pet urine contamination will need to be cleaned in-plant.
